The international communications consultancy, Bell Pottinger, announced the appointment of its new Partner, Adeline Goh, who joins the agency after eight years at Ketchum Singapore.
Adeline has more than 15 years of agency, in-house and journalism experience, and will play a leading role at Bell Pottinger’s Corporate Practice.
At Ketchum, she advised clients across a diverse range of sectors, including engineering, energy, F&B, government, healthcare, professional and financial services, technology and tourism. She was previously Head of Corporate Communications at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, Agency for Science and Technology and Research (A*STAR), and began her career as a journalist and editor at MediaCorp Press and Singapore Press Holdings.
The latest hire comes shortly after a series of senior appointments by the agency early this year, as part of its continued expansion and growth in Asia. They include the promotion of Mark Worthington to Managing Director of Bell Pottinger Singapore, as well as the appointments of former editorial leader writer and columnist with The Times in London, Graham Stewart as Managing Director in Myanmar, and previous Head of Investor Relations at Biosensors International, John Wong as the head of Financial Practice in Singapore.
Havas Sports & Entertainment, the global brand engagement network of Havas, and part of Havas Media Group, announced two senior management appointments to its global team.
Fredda Hurwitz, currently Global VP of Strategic Planning, Marketing & Communications for Havas SE, has been named Global Chief Strategy Officer, where she will oversee the development and execution of all global strategic initiatives and key global pitches, along with her current responsibilities leading new business development, marketing and communications. Hurwitz is an industry veteran who joined Havas SE in 2009 after having held senior level strategic and management positions at Cunning, Momentum Worldwide, Redmandarin, NFL International, NHL International and Disney Consumer Products EMEA.
In a second move, Thiago Bersou has been appointed Global Creative Planning Director, where he will help lead on global pitches, supporting the planning process and the development of global creative tools and processes.
A multicultural marketing professional with over 14 years’ experience both in agencies and in-house, Bersou joins Havas SE from Aurora Media Worldwide, where he was head of Brand Content. Previously he spent four years at Diageo where he led participation marketing, developing brand engagement campaigns around football for Guinness Africa, and supporting Diageo’s strategy in Latin America. Before that, he was a senior strategist at Saatchi & Saatchi in Brazil where he worked on a number of top international and local brands including Nike, Claro, Skol and Unimed. He began his career at Pernod Ricard in Brazil.
Both Hurwitz and Bersou will be based out of London, where Havas SE has a global hub.
GREY group India has announced the appointment of Vishal Ahluwalia to head its Bangalore office as Vice President & Office Head. He will report to Sunil Lulla, Chairman & Managing Director of GREY group India.
Ahluwalia joins Grey with two decades of marketing communications experience across various geographies and disciplines. Until recently, he has worked as a Member of the Board of IRIS Worldwide in which he spearheaded the digital and retail verticals. Prior to this, he was the Head for TBWA-South India, Head of the Unilever business for JWT-Taipei and a senior member of both Contract and JWT.
Ahluwalia holds a post-graduate degree in Sales and Marketing. He has worked on brands including Nestle, SONY, Reckitt, Pernod Ricard, Unilever, Dabur, Coca Cola, Maruti, Tata Gold Plus, Kimberly Clark and many others.
Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) announced the appointment of June Yeoh as Senior Director of International Program Sales in Asia.
In this position, which she will assume on 7 April 2015, June will report to Caroline Beaton, VIMN’s Senior Vice President for International Program Sales, and will be based in Singapore. She will oversee all of VIMN Asia’s international program sales across Greater China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia; the company’s brand portfolio in Asia includes MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Comedy Central.
June brings with her more than 12 years of experience in the TV industry, having covered Channel, Content and Distribution. Before joining VIMN, she was Manager of TV Content Distribution and Format Sales at BBC Worldwide Southeast Asia since 2011, responsible for the sales of BBC Worldwide’s programs and formats catalogs to all terrestrial, pay and digital platforms in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, she worked at Bloomberg LP, CNBC International and at MTV Asia.
June holds an honor’s degree in Communications from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Suresh Ramaswamy joins Grey Group Singapore as Digital Lead – Regional Director, Southeast Asia. He will report to Subbaraju Alluri, CEO of Grey Group Singapore.
Prior to Grey, Ramaswamy was the Regional Director of Social & Mobile for Leo Burnett Singapore, where he worked on brands such as P&G and Friesland Campina ASEAN. During his time at Leo Burnett, he was the strategic lead for Samsung’s social media strategy and implementation across APAC and MENA.
Ramaswamy began his advertising career at Ogilvy & Mather and has since held senior planning and servicing roles across Asia and America at Modem Media, BLUE Interactive, Publicis, Possible and Wunderman. Over the course of his career, he has led high-visibility accounts including IBM, Citibank, Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts, Delta Airlines, Coca-Cola, Cisco Systems, Unilever, Singapore Airlines, SAP and Johnson & Johnson.
He graduated from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore with an MBA in Marketing & International Business, and holds a degree in Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications from Bangalore University.
Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) announced that Syahrizan Mansor has been promoted to Vice President of Nickelodeon in Asia.
In this position, which she assumes with immediate effect, Syahrizan will be responsible for the Nickelodeon Brand across Greater China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. She reports to Mark Whitehead, VIMN’s Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Asia and is based in Singapore.
A 15-year veteran in VIMN and with nearly two decades of experience in the TV industry, Syahrizan was most recently the Senior Director of Programming for Nickelodeon Asia, where she was responsible for programming, acquisitions and on-air promotions for Southeast Asia channels on both Pay TV and free-to-air platforms. Before joining VIMN, Syahrizan was with MediaCorp’s previous TV12 in Singapore.
Syahrizan holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Murdoch University, Australia.
Stella Cheung, who has held senior positions at Google and Yahoo! in China and Southeast Asia, has been appointed Regional Sales Director based in Hong Kong, for Kenshoo, the global leader in agile marketing software, with a mandate to drive further expansion across the region.
Cheung has more than seventeen years of experience in the media and digital marketing industry, and was formerly the Head of Sales at Google Hong Kong. In that role, Cheung spent more than eight years growing and developing new market opportunities in the region whilst serving the top brand clients and advertising agencies in China.
Prior to Google, Cheung worked in senior sales roles at Yahoo! Hong Kong and for media companies Sing Tao News Corporation and the Hong Kong Economic Times. Most recently, Cheung was the Chief Business Officer of digital marketing solutions provider AsiaPac Net Media, where she helped build the company's China and Taiwan operations.
At Google, Cheung was one of the first employees at its Hong Kong operations and helped create the company's business in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and across Asia.
Cheung has a bachelor degree in Statistics and Economics from the University of Hong Kong and a Masters in Marketing and Management from the University of Bradford.

TripAdvisor announced the appointment of Irene Sung to a newly created role of Head of Client Development, TripAdvisor Asia Pacific.
Based in TripAdvisor’s regional Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, Irene is responsible for formulating business strategies in key verticals for TripAdvisor Display Advertising as well as managing key client relations to help them improve their understanding and utilisation of TripAdvisor offerings.
Prior to TripAdvisor, Irene was Head of Branding at Google and as Google’s pioneer sales employee in Singapore, she was instrumental in propelling Google’s presence in Asia Pacific and accelerating Google’s online sales revenue over the years. Aaron Leong, formerly a Sales Manager for TripAdvisor in Southeast Asia, will now report to Irene in a newly created role as Client Development Manager for Asia Pacific where he will be tasked with developing key client relationships.
Irene graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science with double majors in Mathematics and Biology.
Irdeto announced that Doug Lowther will be assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer following Graham Kill’s resignation in September 2014 to pursue new opportunities based out of his native UK.
Mr. Lowther joins Irdeto from International Datacasting Corporation (IDC), where he currently serves as CEO. Prior to IDC, Mr. Lowther was EVP of Irdeto’s Digital TV business and had been with the company for over nine years.
With extensive experience in digital television, IP-based services and security products, Mr. Lowther will strengthen Irdeto’s position in providing solutions for pay TV operators, over-the-top service providers, and content owners. He joins the company during a period of tremendous opportunity, evidenced by the success of its new offerings in attracting new tier-1 customers such as Liberty Global, Premier League and Charter Communications. Mr. Lowther will play a crucial leadership role in advancing this progress and further enhancing Irdeto’s portfolio.
At IDC, Mr. Lowther led the restructuring of the business and renewed the company’s business strategy, product portfolio and leadership team. During his previous service with Irdeto, Mr. Lowther drove the creation of a product portfolio that achieved substantial revenue growth and subsequently led Irdeto’s Digital TV business as well as its global Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Development teams. Prior to joining Irdeto, Mr. Lowther held several executive roles with Nortel Networks, where he was Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Applications and the Vice President of Strategic Marketing. He has a global perspective, having lived and worked in Canada, France, Singapore, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and China. Mr. Lowther will be based in the Irdeto Hoofddorp office in his role as CEO.
Additionally, Irdeto recently appointed Andrew Bunten as Chief Financial Officer effective February 1, 2015. Prior to joining Irdeto, Andy was the CFO for Hewlett-Packard's cloud business, shepherding the company's strategic investment from the start-up phase to early maturity. Andy’s experiences are particularly relevant for Irdeto as it continues its expansion of various managed services embracing cloud infrastructures.
In a move strengthening its market presence, PHD Thailand has appointed Nuvee Pongsathidporn as Managing Director.

Telenor Connexion, the leading enabler of connected services, today announced that Jimmy Johansson has been promoted to Information Security and Privacy Officer. Jimmy Johansson was most recently Technical Architecht at the company.
In his new role, Johansson will work closely with Telenor Connexion, Telenor Digital, Telenor Group and customer stakeholders and advocates for information security within the company and its offering to customers.
Johansson is responsible for the development, delivery, and management of the information security program which incorporates policies, procedures, and controls to effectively manage information security risk and compliance with laws, Telenor Group policies, information security frameworks, privacy regulations, and best practises.
Johansson has close to 15 years of experience from the IT and telecom industry, often working with security aspects. He assumed his position on March 1 and will report to the CTO.

He earned an undergraduate degree in commerce from Delhi University, and a post graduate diploma from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management.
Global public relations leader Porter Novelli announced that Angie Schneider, partner and managing director of the agency’s Seattle office, has been appointed president of the agency’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) region effective January 1, 2015.
Based in the agency’s Singapore office, she is responsible for talent development, client service and network collaboration, as well as overall growth and profitability of Porter Novelli’s presence in the region, reporting to CEO Karen van Bergen.
Schneider replaces John Orme, senior partner, who will return to the U.K. later this year after seven years in Asia. He will continue to play a critical role as a senior counselor to top multimarket clients across the Porter Novelli network.
Prior to taking on this assignment, Schneider served as managing director of Porter Novelli’s Seattle office for seven years, and global client relationship leader for several of the agency’s top accounts. She has led award-winning campaigns, counseled high-profile executives and served as a crisis and strategy lead for top global brands. Schneider has a history of creating high-performing teams, fostering a workplace culture that has earned recognition as a “best place to work,” and driving growth both locally and agency-wide. She joined Porter Novelli in 2000.
Also recently announced was the appointment of Derrick Koh, former head of communications for Lenovo Asia Pacific, as deputy managing director of Porter Novelli Singapore. Koh will be in charge of the overall management of the agency’s Singapore operations and its technology practice, and will work closely with Schneider on business development, both regionally and locally.
Amobee, the company defining digital marketing, announced the appointment of Ian Laurie, former Head of Social Investment from Society. Laurie joins Amobee’s ANZ team as its Head of Social.
In this role, Laurie will expand on Amobee’s partnership with Facebook as well as the global partnership with Twitter that was launched in October of last year. Konstantin Popovic joins Grey Group Singapore as Executive Vice President, Global Business Director for GSK.
He will report to Alina Kessel, Executive Vice President, Managing Director Global Client Service, and Nirvik Singh, Chairman & CEO of Grey Group Asia Pacific.
In his new role, Konstantin will be overseeing Grey’s GSK consumer healthcare portfolio across APAC. He will also look after Panadol, globally.
Popovic started his career at BBDO in Germany after which he moved to their Chicago office and then to New York. During his stint with BBDO, Konstantin led brands as diverse as Wrigley, Johnson & Johnson and Best Buy.
Prior to Grey, Popovic was in Publicis New York, where he was the Brand Agency leader for P&G’s Digestive Wellness and PGT (Procter & Gamble Company and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.) Healthcare brands. In that role, he led a cross functional team of seven agencies across all marketing disciplines to develop integrated ideas.
vOther than his passion for global business, Popovic has always been a digital innovator – from launching a user-generated content (UGC) based campaign three years before YouTube existed to being the global capability lead on Publicis’ real-time marketing engine. Deutsche Messe announced Harvey Stockbridge as new Managing Director of Hannover Fairs Australia Pty. ltd., its subsidiary in Australia, effective 1 March 2015.
In addition to organising events in Australia such as CeBIT Australia, CeMAT Australia and the GovInnovate Summit, Harvey Stockbridge assumes responsibility for introducing Australian exhibitors and visitors to Deutsche Messe’s worldwide event portfolio as well as the further growth plans of Deutsche Messe AG in Australia.
Prior to joining Deutsche Messe, Stockbridge was Managing Director at Informa Exhibitons Australia, a subsidiary of the London based international media group. He also served as Sales Director for IIR Telecoms & Technology, a global conference organiser serving the telecommunications industry. Prior to IIR, Harvey worked for the leading scientific and technical publisher, The Institute of Physics Publishing.
OMD has appointed Scott Kimberley as Managing Partner of OMD International, OMD’s specialist unit that manages multi-national client assignments, based out of Singapore. In this role, Scott will lead the OMD International team which manages OMD’s key global and regional client relationships.
An industry leader with over 15 years of experience, Scott joins OMD International from Mediacom Melbourne, where he is currently the Group Account Director. Scott previously ran Dell across Asia Pacific and Japan, retaining the account for 5 consecutive years. Prior to Mediacom, Scott was the Group Account Director at Mitchell and Partners.
Scott will commence his new role in the first week of April, 2015. Based in the Singapore office, Scott will report to Torie Henderson.

Essence, a global digital agency and the largest independent buyer of digital media, announced three new senior level appointments.
Rob Reifenheiser, the head of media for North America, has been promoted to Managing Director of the region, and Cathy Carl, global marketing director, will add new business to her list of responsibilities by simultaneously serving as head of North American business development. The agency has also hired Mike Selman as managing director of the Seattle office. These appointments come on the heels of the agency experiencing over 40 percent revenue growth in 2014, with headcount doubling every year since 2010.
Reifenheiser came to Essence in 2014 from Starcom MediaVest, and most recently served as its North American Head of Media, overseeing the agency's programmatic, biddable, planning, account management, investment and advertising operations teams across its New York, San Francisco and Seattle offices. The role of Managing Director, North America will hold Reifenheiser responsible for the management of all US offices, supporting business development initiatives and identifying regional growth opportunities. He will remain based out of the agency's New York office.
Carl also started at Essence last year when she was named Global Marketing Director after heading Communications for Razorfish. In addition to her duties of promoting and protecting Essence's brand and reputation with press and analysts, managing its official social channels and crafting thought leadership and collateral, Carl's expanded position as Head of North America Business Development will task her with identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the US. This is familiar terrain for Carl, who earlier in her career ran business development for DDB Seattle. To accommodate the various responsibilities of her new position, Carl has relocated to San Francisco.
Selman joins Essence after a six year stint at Razorfish, where he was Group Vice President, leading the strategy practice for its West Region. Other previous roles include Senior Director of Marketing for T-Mobile, Product Manager of Allied Telesyn and marketing positions at Ripcord Systems, Headbone Interactive and The Walt Disney Company. His appointment as Managing Director of the Seattle office for Essence will call on Selman to apply his broad client and agency-side background in the media, strategy and creative businesses, to track the day-to-day operations of the office, which consists of 30 people, support new business efforts and manage its client roster.
Reifenheiser will continue reporting directly into Global CEO Christian Juhl, as will Carl for marketing-related activity, while reporting into Reifenheiser for business development. Selman will also report into Reifenheiser. All appointments are effective immediately.
Entravision Communications Corporation, a diversified media company serving Latino audiences and communities, announced that it has promoted Maria Lopez-Knowles from Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of its Pulpo Media business unit to the newly created position of CMO of Entravision.

Universal Music Group (UMG), a fully owned subsidiary of Vivendi, and Vessel, a premium online video service, announced an agreement to premiere select UMG videos through Vessel for an exclusive time period before making the content available on free, ad-supported services.
The specific artist videos from UMG's labels that will be featured on Vessel's paid tier will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Vessel subscribers receive at least 72 hours of exclusive access to short-form, professionally produced content on mobile devices and the Web for the price of $2.99 a month. During the early access period, videos on Vessel can earn a multiple of 20-times more per-view compared with free, ad-supported online video services.
After the exclusive time period, videos posted on Vessel become available on general ad-supported online services, including Vessel's free, ad-supported offering.
