“What do Internet users in Asia Pacific want in a smart-
home?” That was the question GfK tried to get answers
to in a survey and their findings are quite interesting.

GfK’s study revealed that three-quarters of internet us-
ers in China thought smart-home technology was the
digital technology most likely to have an effect on their
lives, ahead of mobile payments, wearables and cloud
computing. Meanwhile, in Japan just 19% of Internet
users said smart-home technology would be the most
impactful, whereas respondents in South Korea put
smart-home technology relatively high but are still be-
lieving 3-D printing would have a bigger effect on their
lives.
